Toronto Mountain (Watch in HD)

Us Torontonian’s find ourselves cyclically encapsulated in everyday modern life, surrounded by new developments and technologies that cease to reflect the semblance of our origin. Toronto Mountain, poised 25 feet tall in contemporary cairn, recognizes the inexhaustible energy of nature within its relationship with the human being.

The Ride to Conquer Cancer 2018

Strength in numbers has never mattered more than in the fight against cancer.

This year marks Den Bosch + Finchley’s seventh season participating in the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer. Led by team captain John Tackaberry, our team embarked on a two day, 220km+ journey from Niagara to Hamilton and back. Why do we ride? In one way or another, all of us have been affected by cancer. Whether its you personally, a friend or a loved one – we are all here with one goal, to conquer cancer in our lifetime.

Competing in the industry challenge, team DenBosch finished in sixth place for team total donating over $39,000!  With an incredible effort from team members Jay Hodgins, Americo Tomas, Luis Candido, Stuart MacDonald, Erin Tackaberry, Conor Tackaberry and Ciara Blair, Den Bosch remarkably finishing 2nd place in average money per rider at $4,878.81!

To this date, our team has raised over $320,000 and you can continue to support our fight here.

Thank you to everyone who participated and donated, we look forward to seeing you next year!

Maximizing Space, Minimizing Opportunity Cost

Oftentimes the traffic congestion in Toronto may make you wish you worked from home. Den Bosch + Finchley recently collaborated with architectural firm Audax to cut one of our clients commute time to near nothing.

Soon after realizing the recently purchased two-story Yorkville warehouse was too large for their plastic surgery clinic, our client was presented the idea of living upstairs. 16 months later, an Italian styled, 3’900 square foot flat stands directly above their workplace.

Highlighted by features such as a double-sided granite fireplace, a spacious custom walk in closet and a marble-everything master ensuite, this flat feels much more alike a luxury home than a second floor to an office.

Toronto’s Cool and Beyond

Integrating contemporary architectural style into a classical surrounding is no simple project.

Recently recognized on the cover of Objekt International magazine, the Den Bosch + Finchley team has showcased the ability to create a balance of modern design and traditional style, amalgamating into a beautiful work of architecture.

Sophisticated, detail oriented and artistically inspired, this Toronto home represents the emphasis Den Bosch + Finchley places on a team approach to satisfy and exceed our clients expectations.

Silver Sponsor for Sick Kids Charity Event

Den Bosch + Finchley is a proud sponsor of Humour Me, a charity event for SickKids Foundation in collaboration with our client, Walied Soliman. Humour Me is a an event where a group of committed sponsors, brave CEOs and Canadian and international stand-up comics come together to raise money for youth-related charities.

Just as SickKids helps children beat the odds every day, Mr. Soliman was able to beat the odds as an underdog of the stand-up competition and was awarded first place by a panel of esteemed judges.  Despite describing this as one of most challenging things he has ever done, through tenacity, hard work and determination he was able to prevail just as the children of SickKids do every day with the help of events like this.

Humour Me applies a twist to the standard stand-up routine by bringing together both professional comedians and influential, high-profile amateurs to perform together.  For 2017, the net proceeds of Humour Me, will be used to fund children’s mental health programs at SickKids Foundation. The hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), aims to improve the health of Canadian children by integrating care, research and teaching.

Market Street Development Honoured at Heritage Toronto Awards

2014 Heritage Toronto Awards William Greer Architectural Conservation and Craftsmanship Award of Excellence
Market Street Redevelopment

Market Street

Located in the St. Lawrence Market District, the Market Street Redevelopment project included three mid-to late-nineteenth century heritage buildings: 8 Market Street, 87 Front Street, and 10-12 Market Street and a new building at 118 The Esplanade. Conservation work was concentrated on the stabilization of the two-storey brick façade of 10-12 Market Street during construction of a new steel-frame structure.  Work on the façade included extensive masonry repairs, the replication of second-storey wood windows, a brick parapet, and the recreation of a missing wood cornice. The ground floor was rebuilt in a modern style to distinguish old from new.  A two-storey addition to the south was also constructed using red sandstone to blend with the adjacent red brick. The project extended to a pedestrian focused redesign of Market Street.
